CD –LSD AP CoP Day 1

What a day! The anticipation for this meeting was great. We looked forward for several months now when we could have the opportunity to sit down with the core Global CD-LSD members in the Asia-Pacific region to really flesh out both a non-monetary incentives mechanism to drive the CD-LSD AP CoP and also work on creating a two year action plan.

The excitement during the registration and in Amari Watergate in general today, with all the meetings etc., was palpable. People from all over the region came to share their expectations, hopes, and desires for the CoP. There is great potential in this and that was expressed through-out the meeting time and time again.

While we were behind schedule at times it was worth the extra time as all positions really needed to be heard in full, and at times clarified. Tanks to the efforts of several members and great facilitation we only finished half an hour past the scheduled finish time. For workshops I’ve heard this isn’t too bad.

Now, over tomorrow the CD-LSD CoP members will be working on three key activities which will be consolidated (to the extent possible) on Friday and we will get a real sense of where this CoP is heading.

In the evening Dipa Bagai was very kind and held an excellent dinner at her place. The food was great (as always) and the discussion was lively. I met a lot of interesting people who shared with me valuable insights into CD.

Lets see what tomorrow brings!
